Hit the road with Hyundai
Hyundai has officially introduced the second-generation NEXO, a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), at the Seoul Mobility Show in South Korea. This mid-size SUV represents a step forward in Hyundai’s efforts to advance hydrogen technology for everyday use.
The all-new NEXO features notable advancements in its powertrain, particularly within the fuel cell (FC) and power electronics (PE) systems. The hydrogen fuel cell stack now delivers a maximum gross power of 110 kW, marking a 16% increase from previous versions, while the new electric motor is capable of producing up to 150 kW. Additionally, the fuel cell stack has been optimized for better low-temperature performance and enhanced durability, with improvements made to the membrane and a more uniform cell performance structure.
The new NEXO offers an estimated range of over 700 km on a full charge, with the ability to refuel in just five minutes, impressive!
