Hyoffwind starts construction - Belgium’s first 25 MW green hydrogen plant in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges.

On February 18th, at Window to the Future-event in Zeebrugge, Virya Energy, Messer, and Hyoffgreen kicked off the construction of Hyoffwind— Belgium’s first 25 MW green hydrogen plant in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. By 2026, the plant will start producing hydrogen, cutting CO₂ emissions by 25 000 tons per year in mobility and industry. On the list of attendees: Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele, who emphasized hydrogen’s key role in Flanders’ energy future.

A panel discussion featuring our CEO Bert De Colvenaer (WaterstofNet ), Chris Dhulst (Bekaert), Barbara Veranneman (Essencia) and Frederic Keymeulen (Transport en Logistiek Vlaanderen) provided valuable insights into the regulatory and industrial frameworks to scale up hydrogen technologies.
