Denmark-Germany hydrogen pipeline faces three-year delay

Energinet has postponed its plans to build a hydrogen pipeline linking Denmark and Germany from 2028 to 2031. The Danish state-owned transmission system operator (TSO) stated that while there is significant potential for the infrastructure, the varying levels of maturity among different projects led to the decision to delay development. You can read about that here. This news follows Norway's Equinor announcing the cancellation of its pipeline plans to Germany and Denmark, pushing a similar project back to 2032. These delays pose challenges to Germany’s aim of fulfilling up to 70% of its hydrogen demand through imports by the end of the decade.
