H2ighlights: WIC Reflects on 2024
What a year! Ready for a round-up?!
We brought the Waterstof Industry Cluster together three times for inspiring WIC meetings. The last meeting, at BASF in Antwerp, offered an exclusive look at the brand-new ammonia cracker— a milestone for the sector. Earlier this year, we visited the TNO laboratories in Eindhoven, and we explored the production facilities at Bosal. In June, we proudly launched the very first WIC fair, where 170 participants, 50 stands, and more than 25 speakers brought the hydrogen world to life.
Additionally, WaterstofNet took over the secretariat of RHâ‚‚INE and coordinated or participated in numerous innovative projects, such as Smart Dhystrict, StaSHH, and REVIVE. Our Hydrogen Academy also continued to grow: for the first time, we organized a Dutch edition with 30 plus participants, while in Antwerp, more than 50 professionals delved deeper into hydrogen.
We were also present at several leading fairs, including the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, the EU Hydrogen Week in Brussels, and the Hannover Messe. And of course, networking was a key part—during three successful Belgian Beer Nights, we brought the sector together in a relaxed atmosphere.
Looking at our members’ activities, we have – amongst other successes - witnessed the first investment decision for industrial scale hydrogen projects in Belgium, several companies being awarded EU funding for setting up production capacity for hydrogen technology or implementing industrial scale projects, .. We’re ready for more!
In short, WaterstofNet and the Hydrogen Industry Cluster made great strides in 2024—and we’re full of energy for 2025! Thanks for being part of our year.
