Plastic omnium starts working on a French hydrogen tank plant construction
Plastic Omnium started a hydrogen tank plant construction, most particularly for lorries and buses.
When laying the first stone, Laurent Favre, Chief Executive Officer of Plastic Omnium, stated that “this project embodies the very DNA of the energy transition, by capitalizing on our technological expertise, full tank proven to commission them of the future solution that is hydrogen. By focusing on innovation and on strengthening our industrial capacity, we could bring answers to energetic stakes.”
With an annual capacity of 80 000 hydrogen containers, the factory will provide among other companies Stellantis and HYVIA. This overall investment of nearly €150 million will lead to 150 to 200 jobs. This factory will be built respecting the highest environmental standards, in line with the Group carbon neutrality’s roadmap. Indeed, it will produce most of the energy it will need.
