Stellantis brings hydrogen portfolio to Belgium

The Stellantis Group will launch its range of hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles in Belgium from 2024. This was announced by Stefaan De Doncker, the group's new LCV manager in Belux, on the sidelines of the private exhibition organised by Stellantis in Groot-Bijgaarden.

Stellantis is one of the first major European manufacturers to develop hydrogen technology for a light commercial vehicle. This technology is currently available on the Peugeot Expert, Citroën Jumpy and Opel Vivaro (but not on the Fiat Scudo) and will be available on the group's large vans by the end of the year. It features a relatively large traction battery (10.5 kWh) that is not only used to start the vehicle, as in other fuel cell vehicles. The battery (supplied by Symbio) is used to power the traction battery and therefore acts as a range extender. Stellantis speaks of 400 kilometres of autonomy, but the main advantage is that it takes only three minutes to refuel hydrogen and maintains the 1,000 kg payload.
