Tata Motors: India’s pioneer for hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks

Let's venture a bit further afield.. Tata Motors, India's leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has embarked on the first-ever trials of hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks. Over the next 24 months, the company will deploy 16 advanced hydrogen-powered vehicles, each featuring unique configurations and payload capacities. These trucks, equipped with Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines (H2-ICE) and Fuel Cell (H2-FCEV) technologies, will be tested on India's most prominent freight routes, boasting an operational range of 300-500 km.

Awarded the tender for this trial, Tata Motors is funded by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
