Major players, big ambitions: TotalEnergies and Air Liquide join forces

TotalEnergies and Air Liquide have partnered on two green hydrogen projects in the Netherlands, together aiming to produce around 45 000 tons of hydrogen annually. TotalEnergies and Air Liquide signes the agreement to build a 250 MW electrolyzer near the Zeeland refinery, which will produce the first 30 000 tons of green hydrogen (annually), most of which will supply Zeeland's platform. This project, set to begin in 2029, will reduce CO2 emissions by up to 300 000 tons per year.

Additionally, the second project near the 200 MW ELYgator electrolyzer project at the Maasvlakte, will produce in addition 15 000 tons of green hydrogen for TotalEnergies’ Antwerp platform. This project is expected to be operational by late 2027 and will cut CO2 emissions at the Antwerp site by up to 150 000 tons annually. You can read the full press release here.
