Solhyd partners in groundbreaking project in Namibia on clean H2 cooking
On Monday April 29, the official visit of the Belgian king Filip, accompanied by Minster of Energy Tinne Van der Straeten and several Belgian companies, to Namibia has started with the intention to boost the collaboration on green hydrogen.
In the framework of this royal visit, a new partnership has been officially launched between Solhyd, COOSHA Impact Venture, Voxdale and the Namibian Kaoko Green Energy Solutions during a demonstration for His Royal Majesty.
Together, COOSHA -founded by Prof. Johan Martens and Johan Moyersoen- and engineering company Voxdale, have developed a hydrogen cookstove and refrigerator that operates on low-pressure hydrogen, sourced from Solhyd’s solar-hydrogen panels. The Solhyd technology uniquely allows to produce renewable hydrogen in a decentralized way, without requiring any inputs.
The new partnership will explore the expansion of this technology within Namibia. By providing renewable hydrogen for cooking and cooling, the project aims to empower 100,000 families annually by 2030, transforming access to energy and fostering a more equitable global society.
