Flanders and the Netherlands strengthen hydrogen cooperation at the 7th Flemish-Dutch Summit
On April 1, 2025, the Flemish and Dutch governments convened in Ghent for the seventh Flemish-Dutch Summit. In their closing statement, they reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple domains – including, of course, hydrogen!
- Both countries have committed to investing in cross-border hydrogen transport networks.
- Furthermore, hydrogen now prominently features on the joint HighTech cooperation agenda.
- Both governments are actively exploring further collaboration on hydrogen imports, as this is essential for making industry more sustainable.
- Finally, administrative cooperation will be strengthened, particularly regarding the implementation of the Gas Package and the RFNBO targets.
A consistent, structural an adequate (hydrogen) energy policy and corresponding investments are recognized as necessary measures to consistently address high energy prices and pave the way for a more sustainable future. We agree!
